If you would like to apply to Osborne Cawkwell, please click here. The boxes on our application form will expand as you type so please put as much information as you feel is necessary.

We will acknowledge receipt of your application and keep your details on file. Please note that we will only consider applications from tutors who are either over 21 years old or who have completed their second year of university. We ask that tutors commit to us for an academic year - if you are not able to commit to us for the entire year, it makes it harder for us to consider you for work.

The amount of tuition we can offer you depends on the subjects you offer, which areas of London you live/study/work in, and your availability. It also depends on the requests we receive from clients and this is something that we have no way of predicting. Last academic year we were able to offer work to about 50 of 250 or so applicants. We stress that we can never guarantee any tutor work.

The interview

We take on new tutors as and when the need arises. If we do contact you to offer you a possible student, we will ask you to come and meet us. At this point we will ask you to apply for Enhanced Disclosure and to provide details of two people we can contact to obtain references on you.

1. Enhanced Disclosure

All tutors are required to obtain Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. If you already have an enhanced disclosure, we require that it is less than a year old for us to accept it - if it's older, and you would like to work through us, we will ask you to apply for a new one.

Osborne Cawkwell is a registered body with the Criminal Records Bureau and can therefore process tutors' applications for Enhanced Disclosure; we also act as an Umbrella Body on behalf of other companies wishing to obtain Disclosure for job applicants.

Osborne Cawkwell reserves the right to withdraw a tutor from a tutoring position should the information contained in a Disclosure suggest that the applicant is not suitable to work with children or vulnerable adults.

Please click here for more information on Disclosure and what you have bring with you to interview in order to complete the application form

As a registered body with the CRB we are required to have a Policy on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders, please click here for further details.

2. Referees

Please click here to download our referee form. Please complete it and bring it with you to your interview.
