Born...January 1986
Formative years spent...in Bath, making mud
pies and dens behind the sofa.
Mind honed at...King Edward's School in Bath
(A Levels in Latin, German and Biology) and Newcastle University (BA Hons in Linguistics
with Spanish).
First Students...August 2005, a class of 150
noisy Ugandan children squashed into an abandoned church building in Southern Uganda.
Since that has taught...English as a Foreign
Language to over 30 adults and children, and spent a term whilst at Uni as a assistant
language teacher in a Newcastle secondary school. After graduating, Jess started
on private Spanish tuition, helping three students towards their GCSEs.
She's also...lived in Madrid for a year, spent
lots of time teaching and travelling in East and West Africa, and has recently returned
from 10 months bussing through Central and South America.
What else...Jess is a keen cook and an even
keener baker, and Sundays will find her forcing cupcakes and cookies upon her obliging
housemates. She loves lazy summer days in the park, attempting to dance to salsa,
and getting lost in foreign cities.
