  1. You keep a record of the dates and hours that you tutor on a timesheet
  2. You send us your timesheet on the last day each calendar month
  3. We invoice the client on your behalf at the start of the following month
  4. When we receive payment for an invoice, the money is transferred directly into your bank account and an email is sent to you to confirm the details
What you are paid

Hourly rate for 1:1 tuition Monday to Friday £30
Hourly rate for 1:1 tuition on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays £35
Hourly rate for two or more pupils for tuition Monday to Friday £35
Hourly rate for two or more pupils on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays £40
Daily rate for residential tuition up to 7 days in length
This covers 4 hours of tutoring each day

We calculate travel costs depending on the client's postcode. For central London addresses, no travel costs apply. For addresses slightly further out of central London the following table shows where charges are applicable (per visit and not per hour).

For hourly placements outside of London:

You will be paid £10 per hour of the time spent travelling on your return journey from a mainline London station, plus the cost of your train ticket. We will inform you of what you can claim when arranging the placement.


Self-employed status

Whilst we cannot advise on your liabilities to taxation it is reasonable to expect to be regarded as self-employed; so no tax or National Insurance is deducted from the money you are paid.
